Larock Healthcare Academy in Cleveland Parma Heights, Ohio prepares students to enter into the fast growing career field as a Medical Office Administration. Through our 180-clock hour, job-ready Medical Office Administration training program, students will learn by engaging in hands-on exercises such as verifying insurance coverage, processing patient’s copay and bill payments, creating medical charts and covering all of the other necessary job responsibilities they will perform when working in Medical Office Administration. During lecture and laboratory classes, our medical office administration program instructors teach by using visual aids and multimedia presentations. Larock’s experienced instructors grade and evaluate students based on their individual performance on tests and quizzes as well as attendance and participation in class activities and exercises.

Throughout Larock’s Medical Medical Office Administration Program, you will learn medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medical laws/ethics, ICD-10 coding, patient registration, management of health information, interpersonal communications, medical claims forms, financial management, human resource management, patient scheduling, office cancellations, insurance payments, Microsoft office applications and more. The Medical Office Administration Program includes Simulation & Skills Laboratory practice to further develop skills of a MAA.

Upon successful completion of the Medical Office Administration training program, students will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible for national certification of Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Medical Office Administration Training in the Classroom

Larock Healthcare Academy – Cleveland / Parma Heights educates students enrolled in the Medical Office Administration Program by using multimedia presentations in instructor-led lectures. Students are encouraged to participate by being individually studious on homework and tests as well as ensuring collective participation when working with classmates on performing the job duties in Medical Office Administration. On a typical class day, lecture will run prior to the laboratory session during the first 2 to 2-1/2 hours.

Medical Office Administration Training in the Simulation & Skills Laboratory

From day one, students will enter the laboratory with the knowledge at the level of a beginner and end with learning the skills necessary to begin in a career in Medical Office Administration. They also have the opportunity to work on our computers using applications to emulate the real-life experiences in the field. MAA students will learn interpersonal communication skills through practice in the classroom with other students as well. Typically, lab training runs approximately 1-1/2 to 2 hours and starts after lecture.

 Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) Certification from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

Graduates of Larock’s State-approved program will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association’s Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) examination. This national certification opens the door to many different job opportunities as well as shows dedication and proficiency in the field of your choice.
